The project aims to benefit the artisans of the bazaar by engaging them as trainers, recruiting young artisans for internships and employment, and selling their products to an increased number of visitors.
The project is offering training programmes in production of carpets, rugs, copper works, embroidery, knitting, sewing, sewing folks’ costumes, fabric weaving and training on entrepreneurship for young people, interested in becoming artisans and that there is a focus on transmitting cultural and craft works to the next generation.
In addition to training and employment opportunities, the project is also planning to promote the products produced by trainees and display them at events. This will help to increase exposure for the artisans and potentially increase sales.
The project plans to increase the number of visitors to the National Museums in Kruja through attraction events for both local people and international tourists. This will not only benefit the artisans, but also the local economy as a whole.
Lastly, the local women living in the Castle area will benefit from presenting their local products at two events. It’s important to ensure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to benefit from the project, and this seems like a great way to involve and support local women.
Establish a artisan classroom
The project is preparing a clasroom, equipted with the equipments: looms, sewing machines, sets of cooper object prodution and wood carving. The aim is provision of training for the new artisans.
Reviving the cultural life in the Kruja city
Six cultural events are planned to be organised through the project life. AAn event was held on 28th of Novermber 2022 for the Independence day and another event was held on 18th of December 2022 in the eve of the December fests.
The project expect to organise another event for the summer day in 14th of March 2023, the Food Fair in May and June and the TID day on September 2023. People from the city, visitors from Tirana and the foreign tourists have attended and will attend these events.
